We meet bi-monthly at the Library for our general club meetings, as well as at other locations for workshops and outings.
Speakers:
- presented at general club meetings by
highly regarded experts in photography
- a wide range of subjects, including travel, nature, documentary, photographic
techniques, software, and technology
Workshops:
- hands-on workshops on a variety of subjects
and levels of expertise
- led by an advanced level member of the
club
- usually a Thursday alternate to the regular
club meetings
- not usually held at the Library
- for club members only
Outings:
- club members share hands-on photographic
learning experiences,
- under the guidance of advanced level members
- club members may bring guests
- additional dates beyond those listed in the calendar may be selected (e.g. summer outings)
Regular Competitions:
- during the club season, there are 4 Regular Competitions
of Projected Digital Images (Nature or Pictorial) and Prints (Colour or Monochrome)
- there are Novice, Advanced and Specialist levels
- photos are evaluated by accredited judges from outside
of the club
- results are presented at club meetings with
scores, comments & awards
Other Competitions:
- Bronze Box: a friendly competition with
the Hamilton Camera Club
- Theme Night: a competition of specific subject matter
- Photo Essays: a thematic presentation of digital images usually with accompanying music
- G.T.C.C.C. Competition: an annual competition
among GTA camera clubs
- Year-End Competitions: DMCC Divisional & Media Champions
Annual Awards Night:
- a wonderful meal and social evening to
close the program for the year
- display of images and results of the year-end
competitions
- fun competitions scored by the audience
- presentation of awards and trophies
