Workshops
Hands-on workshops on a variety of photographic subjects and levels of expertise are held at least twice a month.  They are led by the more advanced members of the club at their homes. 

 Lectures
Instructional lectures/demonstrations are presented by invited speakers. Topics cover a wide range of subjects, and are presented by highly regarded experts in photography.  

Competitions
Five competitions are held each club year for both slides and prints at the novice and advanced levels. Categories include nature and advanced slides; colour and monochrome prints; and digital  They are judged by accredited judges from outside of the club and are then presented at a club meeting with their comments and scores. Members can download a Competition Entry Form from the Members Only page.

Interclub Competitions
(i) G.T.C.C.C. Competition
Annual competition among camera clubs in the Greater Toronto Area.

In 1999 Don Mills Camera Club was a co-winner in Pictorial Slides category, in 2005 we won in the Monochrome category, and in 2006 we were the winner in the Nature category.
In addition, over the years, many of our members have won individual recognition for their images.

(ii) Bronze Box
Each year since 1974 the Don Mills Camera Club has a friendly competition with the Hamilton Camera Club for the Bronze Box trophy.  See below for date and host club.

(iii) Stark Trophy: Annual Competition between member clubs of CAPA ( Canadian Association of Photographic Arts)

Field Trips
Several times a year (mainly in summer) club members get together to visit a variety of local and out-of-town sites to take photographs.

Annual Awards Banquet
A year-end competition featuring members’ works in several categories. All monthly awards and honourable mentions are eligible
